BEST WEEKEND EVER!

I had 5 days off work this past weekend. We were supposed to visit Jeremiah's family in Texas, but plans changed and we ended up staying home. I wanted to make the most of it, since its rare that I get this much time off. And I think we had a pretty fantastic time!

Friday was the best day I've had in a long while. Jeremiah and I decided to spend the day together (sans kids), which we haven't done in quite some time! Then my mom was kind enough to babysit for us that night, so we got to have a date night! During the day we hung out, went to the mall, had some lunch, shopped around a bit. I finally convinced Jeremiah to buy a sportscoat, something he's been wanting a while. We both decided to kinda dress up a bit for our date night. I loved doing that! We had dinner at Carrabba's (best food EVER!) and then relaxed at Starbucks and talked a while. It was wonderful. ♥

Saturday I got up bright and early and headed over to Caleb's soccer game. I love watching him play, its so amazing seeing him improve over the years. The kids aren't supposed to keep score at this level, but we do it anyways and our team won 7-2, hehe. :P

After soccer Jeremiah, Joley, and I spent the day together. We got grocery shopping knocked out, and then we were on the hunt for a bike trailer. Joley's outgrown her baby seat that fits on my bike, but she's still too small to handle a bike of her own and be able to keep up with us... heck, Caleb can barely keep up. So we looked for a tandem bike to attach to the rear of one of ours, but she isn't quite big enough for that yet and it just seemed like a waste. So we searched for a bike trailer and found one. To my surprise Joley LOVES it! I figured she'd hate sitting back there, getting pulled around. But she was soaking it up, like the princess she is, haha. I told Jeremiah that she looked like a little pet monkey or something, being pulled all around, haha. :P

Saturday afternoon I met up with Angie to go get our nails done. That evening we were having a GNO! WOOHOO! :) Much needed, haha. After getting our nails done we had sushi. It was my first time going somewhere for sushi, seeing as how I only recently popped my sushi cherry, heh. ;) It was FANTASTIC. LOVED IT! After dinner we headed downtown and had a blast! Great night! Too bad I got tired quick (I'm so OLD! Ack!) so we called it a night.

Me!

Angie looking all pretty!

I loved Angie so hard that night for telling me the red things on mine were fish eggs. :X hehe :P

Sunday my lovely husband let me sleep in since I got home so late the night before. He's wonderful like that. :) After I got my tail up, we went to the park with Joley, for a bike ride and to try out the trailer. Jeremiah had taken Joley to the park the night before (while I was out) and said Joley did great! I was eager to see too! She loved it, of course. We had a lovely little afternoon at the park.

Beautiful day!

Snack time!

Sunday evening I decided to treat the kids and went over to Blockbuster and rented Joley Beauty and the Beast since its new to DVD (need to pick up a copy of that for Joley for Christmas!) and got Furry Vengeance for Caleb. Both kids were ecstatic, of course!

Yesterday was a relaxing day. Caleb was at school and Joley was at daycare. I got my car washed and all spotless and purdy! I got some chores done around the house. Then I went to Starbucks and got a drink and read my book for a bit before it was time to pick Caleb up from school.

I finished Joley's halloween costume! She wants to be a butterfly, so I let her pick out some wings and then I made a matching tutu! She'll wear black pants and a black shirt underneath. Too cute! I'm hoping she'll let me paint her face as a butterfly too (like this) but I'm not holding my breath on that one. My child is definitely quirky, and she freaked when I showed her pics of butterfly face paint, lol. *shaking my head*

I'm hoping to get the tutu to flatten a bit... right now its WAY poofy!

Today has been fun. It started out as a cramped day. Didn't have much time to get anything done because it was Early Release Day for Caleb's school and I promised him I'd have lunch with him today, so I had all of 3 hours to take care of whatever needed to get done around the house. Instead I mentioned to Jeremiah some wooden cubbie/organizational things I'd seen at Target, so we checked Caleb out of school early and took him to lunch, then went on a crazy chase around town, trying to track down the best solution to our clutter, lol. We plan on moving once Jeremiah graduates in the spring... even if we stay here in town, I'd atleast like to get into a home of our own. I haaaaate not being able to paint and redo things in this house that I despise.

So after looking all around, Jeremiah agreed with my take on how to redo our rooms. We decided to first start on the living room and Joley's room... the two that need it the most. Our room and Caleb's room are ok for the time being. Joley's room has been an absolute mess for a while. The child has way too many things and not enough space. Her room is the smallest in this house though.

Living room before... GAG! We've had that TV stand since we first moved in together! We could never decide what we wanted to do with this room, really. Or just never put much thought into it. What we had worked ok. But now its soooo much better!

Living room after! Love it!

Joley's room before... a total cluttered mess. I couldn't find any good way to keep her things organized because her room is so tiny.

But now its PERFECT! Soooo great, I love it so much!

Her little cubbies are too cute!

Next will be Caleb's room, and then hopefully our room. The great thing is that no matter if we move or what, we can always use these cubbies... you can arrange and rearrange them, tons of possibilities!

Time for bed now. All good things must come to an end, as tomorrow begins my work week.

THE THINGS WE DO.

Last week I promised Caleb that if he got on "green" all week at school (meaning he behaved well) that I'd take him to see a movie on Saturday. Of course he got on green all week, LOL! So he decided he wanted to see Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. I love love love movie dates with my little man. He loves it too... he's always asking "Can we have a date tonight?" though I think he secretly just wants the popcorn and soda more than spending time with me. :P But the movie was cute, and the graphics were awesome. Caleb loved it, and Joley fell asleep about halfway through, haha! But she's young and the movie was long, and the only showtime we could get to was at 8:40pm which is way past both of their bedtimes, eeep! But I'm glad we went to see it. And tiny little kiddie-sized 3D glasses FTW! Never seen those before!

Ready to go to the movies! Cuties!

The weather is finally starting to cool off here in Georgia. Last weekend was BEAUTIFUL! The weather was perfect, so we took advantage of that and spent part of Sunday at the park. We even had a picnic lunch there. The kids loved it! I am totally loving this cooler weather! Of course in another couples months I'll be begging for the heat again, haha. :P

Looking like Rainbow Brite, and a little too excited about going to the park! Daddy dressed her... dont ask!

They were pretending to be lions, rawr!

Weeee!

Ahhhh!

Caleb's getting better and better at soccer. We've started taking him to these extra practices on Wednesday nights and its helped a lot. He did pretty well at his last game, and even though they're not supposed to keep score, the kids always do and we won 6-5. :P

Total attitude. She REALLY hates me taking pictures of her!

Victory!

Good game, good game.

Other random pictures I've taken recently, since I'm a photowhore...

Blue-eyed baby.

Whaaaat!

And I must not forget, my newest toy!

Totally love it. Hard. ♥

A WHOLE WEEK

Life has been very busy for the Brooks family! Last Saturday I went to this two-hour "back to school" Zumba event. It was awesome! There were like 8 instructors! So much fun. I've always hated working out but desperately needed to... Zumba is my fix for that! I've been trying to go as much as I can lately, and that's a task with our crazy schedules. After Zumba I took Joley to Skye's birthday party at Chick-fil-a. Joley had a good time! The Chick-fil-a cow made an appearance and Joley freaked out, lol. She talks nonstop about all the costume characters that scare her... the Chick-fil-a cow, Chuck E Cheese, and Monkey Joe... "where are they? Are they at home? Are they sleeping? They scare me. Who's the mom? Where's his brother?" Its cute. :P

The scurry cow!

Coloring!

They got these cute little mini cows!

After that busy day, Jeremiah and I got a date night! He's worked so hard studying for school lately, I wanted him to have a break. I asked my mom to watch the kids and I was planning to meet Jeremiah at work and surprise him and "kidnap" him away for a date night. But I ended up running late and just met him at home instead. He was still surprised! We had a really nice dinner out, and then chilled at Starbucks and enjoyed coffee treats and talked for a while. It was so nice!

Peppermint White Mocha ♥

Sunday Angie and I decided to take the kids to the BK for lunch and then to the circus! We lucked up big time... when we first got there, this lady walking next to us had some free tickets and handed us enough to cover us all! That saved us like $60+! Nice!! So I splurged a bit and bought all the kids cotton candy and a light toy... the girls got light-up heart necklaces and the boys got light sabers. Over-priced toys, but I wanted the kids to really enjoy that experience. I think Caleb loved the circus the most! He was glued to all the acts! Joley loved seeing all the animals... especially the tigers and elephants! Angie left at intermission because Elijah passed out. We made the mistake of going to an afternoon show and non of the kids had napped yet, ooops! Joley ended up passing out for a little bit too. Had I known there were only a couple more acts after intermission, we would have left then too. The parking lot was insane afterwards! But the kids had a GREAT time, so I'm really glad we went!

Last week was a short week for me... I was off Thursday and Friday, but it ended up being a busy week. I worked 10-hour days. Monday and Tuesday I went to Zumba in the evenings. Joley always begs to go to the gym with me, but then she freaks out whenever I try to leave her in the gym daycare, gah! Hopefully she'll get adjusted and used to that place. :)

Thursday I went to Caleb's school to help with eye exams for 2nd and 4th graders. That was an experience! I did that for a few hours, then went to have lunch with Caleb and his class. I love doing that and getting to see how his day is going. That evening Caleb had soccer practice, and when we got home from practice, Jeremiah told me that Joley had gotten sick. Vomitting and fever, yikes! Oddly enough, she already had a doctor appt scheduled for Friday, for her 3 yr old check-up. She was up all Thursday night though. She was stil feverish all day Friday, but her check-up went well. 39lbs and 39.5" tall! She also got two vaccines and her flu shot. Poor baby hated that! She was so pitiful... she never gets sick, but when she does she becomes a total mama's girl. I love it because normally she's all about her daddy, so its really nice when she wants only me and is super cuddly! She's doing well now. All better. :)

Saturday I went to Caleb's soccer game. He was doing so well! I had to leave at half-time to head over to the Zumba class, and I hated to leave because the game was so good!

Joley playing at one of Caleb's soccer practices.

At practice.

After Zumba Joley and I went out shopping. I needed to get some ribbon from Hobby Lobby to make hairbows with. I had taken Caleb to get a haircut Thursday afternoon and they had these adorable hairbows there, so I bought two for Joley since I can't seem to find them anywhere else. Then after looking at them, I realized I should totally figure out how to make them myself. I had tried my hand at hairbow making months ago and it didn't turn out so well. But this time I found the youtube video I had been needing, and VOILA! Hairbow heaven! :)

After Hobby Lobby Joley and I went grocery shopping. I was planning on going to the fair that evening with Joley, but since she had been sick and I was starting to feel sick- we didn't go. We relaxed at home. Joley had been asking for my mom and stepdad all weekend long, so we went over there for a little visit. I love seeing them! :)

Cutie!

Diva says no more pictures!

Papi and granny with Joley.

Today has been a lazy day. It was rainy outside all day, so that helped me justify staying in all day. :)  I caught up on chores and laundry, watched some TV shows that I had recorded on the DVR, and just relaxed. Now I'm off to watch the Desperate Housewives season premiere and then head to bed! Work in the morning... boooo! And its a 5-day work week next week. But the week after I'll be off for 5 days for our little trip to Texas.
